Julia Orissa Wells was a native of Utica, New York, where she worked as a nurse. Later, she moved to Corona Del Mar, California.
Review:
These papers consist chiefly of materials related to the family history and genealogy of the Wells and Bailey families of Utica, New York, which include a family scrapbook, photographs, and genealogical charts. Also includes an extensive collection of View-Master reels (wheel-type transparencies) from the "7 Wonders of the World" series and stereoscopic transparency slides, circa 1947-1949.
Review:
This collection also contains papers related to Julia's service as executrix for the estate of her friend, Nina L. Wharton, including probate forms and correspondence, tax returns, and an inventory of the assets, as well as World War I correspondence of Nina's husband, Nathan Earl Wharton, and a narrative of his experiences during the war.
