Historical/biog note:
James T. Brady was born in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the infantry during World War II and after the war was employed with the military government. He was a judge in the Occupation Courts in Germany until 1951. Rita G. Brady, also born in Brooklyn, joined her husband in Germany in 1950. Mrs. Brady had been a teacher in the New York City area and later taught children's literature in the Albany area where her husband was a lawyer in the public service commission. Both Bradys wrote and published juvenile short stories and novels. They had no children.
Abstract:
This collection is primarily the manuscripts and related publishing correspondence of the juvenile literature of James T. and Rita G. Brady. There are a few journals, photographs, and printed material for both. James T. Brady's papers contain some material on the military government of Germany and his experiences living there.
