Review:
The letters were written by Erastus Spaulding, mostly from Gates, Monroe County, New York, to his brother, Lyman Spaulding, residing at first in Rochester, New York, then in Canandaigua, New York, and later in Lockport, New York. The letters detail personal and family matters as well as business transactions between the two men. Several of the letters suggest they were also engaged in land speculation.
