Review:
Papers consist of correspondence, financial records, and legal documents related to the personal and family matters of Catherine Van Schaick Baldwin and her husband William W. Baldwin. Most of the letters appear to be from Van Schaick relatives including Anthony Augustus Peebles, first cousin of Catherine, who was prominent in Rensselaer County politics and government. Financial records include account books and invoices related to housed expenditures. Legal documents relate mostly to the estates of Gerard Van Schaick, Henry Van Schaick (1795-1829), and Catherine Van Schaick Baldwin. Included are land titles for property in Albany, Rensselaer, and Saratoga County.
