  These papers consist of diaries, letter books, and account books documenting the personal and professional life of J.V.S.L. Pruyn This collection Included eleven volumes of personal diaries, 1851-1877; seven volumes of personal diaries written while in Europe, 1846-1875; a personal diary for the years 1830-1832; personal memorandum book while Chancellor, 1862-1874; four small pocket diaries, 1853, 1855-1857; a letter book of official letters as Chancellor, 1862-1874, and a small pocket volume containing two speeches given by Pruyn in 1825 and 1826, in Pruyn's hand.

  Review:

  Collection also includes financial records kept by Pruyn and the executors of his estate: official cash book, 1832-1860; legal accounts, 1836-1868; four volumes of Pruyn's private ledgers, 1834-1887; the account book of Pruyn's estate, 1887-1889; and Anna Parker Pruyn's private ledger, 1887-1928.
